The meeting was co-chaired by the Assistant to the Minister in the Sector for Financial Planning and Coordination of the International Economic Aid Ms Dusanka Basta and Country Manager of The World Bank in Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr Christopher Sheldon.
Country Manager of The World Bank in BiH presented the Overview of their Portfolio and the New Country Partnership Framework (CPF) 2023-2027 which defines the priorities in the next 5 years.
It was pointed out that the current World Bank program includes 11 projects in total value of cca USD 630 million, and empasized that future financing, under the new Country Partnership Framework, plans 8 additional projects in total value of USD 365.00 milion.
The World Bank has shareholders in 189 countries, including BiH, with objectives to end poverty, increase shared prosperity within 12.000 projects and investmets in the amount of USD 46 billion as financial support to emerging economies.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is the member of The World Bank Group since 1993, and to date it invested in the country USD 2.5 billion in more than 120 projects. The funds have been invested in reconstruction of roads, railways, airports, electricity lines, power plants, water supply, gas and heating.
Futhermore, representatives of The World Bank and their partners celebrated the UN World Water Day and presented current developments and engagement in water resources management in BiH.
In addition, ''Water Alliance'' was also presented where international partners act in cooperation to address water services issues in BiH. Water Alliance in BiH is the platform of the international development organizations active in the water services sector,with more than EUR 210 million invested in the sector over the past decade.
At the Tour de table, development partners and representatives of international organizations and financial institutions in BiH as well as domestic institutions were invited to share the information on the new and planned projects, exchange the opinions on their current and future activities, positive experiences as well as challenges they are facing.
